Prayer, It's a Family Affair!

Prayer, It's a Family Affair! is an ecumenical, all ages celebration of prayer.

In the morning, join in a traditional prayer service written by the women of Papua, New Guinea for families in need world wide that is given by the women of Church Women United.

At noon, share food and faith with others in a free luncheon given by Grace United Methodist church.

At 1pm, 4pm, and 7pm join in one of the many prayer workshops for all ages and prayer styles and personalities. There will be something for everyone. If you think the only way to pray is on your knees with your hands folded, you are in for a wonderful surprise! For adults, just a few of the topics that will be covered are praying with children, prayers in action in the world, prayerfully raising a family in a difficult economy, and finding God in everyday places . There will also be workshops with lots of fun activities for children and youth of all ages.

At 6pm we will share food and fellowship at a potluck where everyone is asked to bring a dish to share that reflects their ethnic heritage.

From 2:30pm-4pm we will have prayer stations for expressions of prayer to which you may come and go as the Spirit moves you. Some of the stations will be making community prayer shawls, (If you can tie a knot, you can participate!) prayer letters, artistic expressions, coffee and tea time, foot reflexology and massage therapy.

We will close the day with a prayerful evening Vespers service in which the prayers of the people will be consecrated either by reading aloud or being placed on the altar. If you would like to email prayers to be consecrated, email them to brittongraceumce@yahoo.com please indicate in the subject line if you would like your prayer to be read outloud or to be a silent prayer that will be placed in a closed container on the altar during the evening vespers service.

No matter what your age, faith, gender or place in life please come and join us for some or all of the day. All events are free of charge.
